Did you know that Apple’s developers have programmed the Apple Watch to play videos received through iMessages?

This means that you can watch a video clip right from a notification. Your contacts can record videos and send them to you, and they can attach any type of video that is supported by the iPhone, as long as it can be played in the iOS Photos app. The video doesn’t have to be recorded using the iPhone camera, it can be downloaded from Mail or synced from a computer.

To play videos on the Apple Watch, the taptic engine will notify you whenever you receive a new text. If the message contains a video, you will see the movie’s thumbnail with a Play button. Tap the Play button and the message will open within the full Messages app. To watch the video, tap the Play button again and the frames will start to play on the Watch’s screen. If there is audio, it will also be played.

You can control the video playback by tapping the screen. You can pause or resume the video, and even jump back or forward on the timeline. The volume can be adjusted using the controls displayed at the bottom of the screen. You can also use the Digital Crown to adjust the volume levels.

If you want to sync videos to your Apple Watch, you can use the iMessage feature

  • Simply send a video to yourself, just like you would share photos through iMessages.
  • Open the Messages app, start a new text, choose yourself as the recipient,
  • and use the Camera icon to attach a video from your Photos library.
  • Tap Send and make sure your Watch and iPhone are connected.

The video will appear on your Apple Watch and will remain available as long as you keep the conversation in Messages.

It’s worth noting that videos available within the Messages app on your Apple Watch are stored on the device itself. This means that you can still watch them even if the smartwatch is in Airplane Mode or out of range from your iPhone. You can also explore 10 more Watch features that work offline.

How to Watch youtube Videos on Apple Watch

  1. Install the WatchTube app. This is a third-party app that allows you to watch YouTube videos on your Apple Watch. You can find it in the App Store on your Apple Watch or iPhone.
  2. Open the WatchTube app. Once you have installed the app, open it on your Apple Watch.
  3. Search for a video. You can search for a video by title, channel, or category.
  4. Play the video. Once you have found a video that you want to watch, tap on it to play it.
  5. Control the video. You can control the video playback by tapping on the screen or using the Digital Crown.

Here are some additional things to keep in mind:

  • Video quality is limited. The video quality on the Apple Watch is limited, so you won’t be able to watch videos in HD.
  • Battery life will be affected. Watching videos on your Apple Watch will drain your battery, so be sure to keep an eye on it.
  • Not all videos are available. Not all YouTube videos are available to watch on the Apple Watch. This is because some videos contain content that is not suitable for the watch, such as violence or adult content.
